Final varnish for paintings in oil. Glossy; colourless; non- yellowing; age-resistant; fast drying. The product is ready to use, but can be diluted with e.g. turpentine substitute. Intermediate varnish for painting in oil. Colourless; non-yellowing; very fast drying; might soften justdried oil colours; should not be used in layers with other final based on mineral spirit (tends to dull!); not suitable as a final varnish; might not be diluted with turpentine substitute (50019); the dried varnish layer remains soluble in alcohol.

Apply varnish remover with a soft lint-free cloth to a small area; moisten the varnish with lightly (!) rotary motions and take it off carefully with the cloth. Observe the softening process of the colour layer. Pre-tests before use!
Daler Rowney Artists' Clear Picture Varnish is a removable picture varnish that produces a clear even gloss finish, which will not yellow or bloom when painted on dry oil paintings. When applied lightly by a spray diffuser it makes an excellent Retouching Varnish. Daler Rowney Artists' Clear Picture Varnish may be used on both oil & acrylic painting.
This versatile varnish is used to bring back the original paint quality of dry or dull oil paints. Daler-Rowney Retouching Varnish can be reduced with solvents, and it is much thinner than final top coat varnishes. It can be used as a preliminary varnish as soon as the paint surface is dry to the touch, since oil paints can continue to dry out through the film. This can be useful for varnishing a new painting before an exhibition. After a painting is fully dry, a retouching varnish can be removed with turpentine or mineral spirits prior to final varnishing, or it can be left underneath the final varnish.
Liquid protective varnish obtained from pure dewaxed shellac. Clear and transparent, used as varnish for painted surfaces, wooden objects, musical instruments, gilding etc. To use it to isolate the surface the varnish should be mixed at a ratio of 1 part of liquid shellac to 2 parts of alcohol.
Very effective universal fixative for several painting and drawing techniques based on alcohol. Intermediate fixative for charcoal and pencil (so they can be painted over with oil colours!); final fixative for charcoal, pencil, pastels, water-colours, gouache, art prints, inkjet-prints, photos. Colourless; non-yellowing; age-resistant; fast drying.
