Ghiant H2O Water-based Gesso has 90% fewer solvents and 35% fewer VOCs than a normal aerosol sprays. It will not yellow or discolour. Ghiant H2O Water-based Gesso is suitable for preparing surfaces for oil, alkyd and acrylic paint. This product creates a grainy surface for good paint adhesion. Always spray thin coats at a distance of 20 cm from the painting surface. It is recommended to wait at least two hours before applying additional layers. At least two gesso layers are required for oil paintings. Allow 24 hours for the product to dry fully. Shake well before use.

Binder for own production of acrylic colours, acrylic mediums and primers. Glossy, colourless, nonyellowing, age-resistant; dilutable with water, but forms rather quickly a water-resistant film. Improves adhesion of undercoats when added to Schmincke acrylic colours instead of water; increases gloss and transparency of the colours.

For crackles in acrylics. This fine, white, even and highly absorbent acrylic paste forms crackles while drying. Can be dyed with acrylic colours (max. 30%) or be overpainted after drying. Application with brush or spatura on grease free, sustainable and especially rigid surfaces.

Intermediate varnish for painting in oil. Colourless; non-yellowing; very fast drying; might soften justdried oil colours; should not be used in layers with other final based on mineral spirit (tends to dull!); not suitable as a final varnish; might not be diluted with turpentine substitute (50019); the dried varnish layer remains soluble in alcohol.

May only be applied with a suitable varnish brush at room temperature to the layer of oil paint after it has dried completely, i.e. after 8 – 12 month at the earliest.
