Fabriano Black Black is a range of uncoated cardboards made of ECF cellulose pulp. This paper is characterized by a very deep black colour due to the high quality and lightfast pigments used for its production. Flexible and resistant it is ideal for pastel, colour pencils, markers, acrylics, passe-partout and portfolio presentations.

The stability and strength of this board offers excellent flatness when wet. The hard surface offers easy application of colour. Ideal for all wet painting techniques: watercolour – especially wet-in-wet painting, smooth wash and also dry painting – as well as gouache, tempera and acrylic. This heavy weight, supple board is ideal for all forms of intaglio and lithography applications. The board’s matt, smooth, life-like surface produces particularly effective prints.

Hahnemühle FineArt has designed a special paper for Japanese sumi-e painting. This very absorbent paper is ideal for "freestyle" brush painting. "sumi" means "black ink" and "e" means both "path" and "painting". The natural white paper creates strong contrasts as the brush glides across the surface. Sumi-e is acid free and extremely age resistant.

Brush pens, fine-tip pens and pencils simply glide across the highly smooth paper. Preliminary sketches can be easily rubbed out on the coated surface, and the tips of sensitive brush pens or paintbrushes are preserved. The smooth, closed surface traps colours and prevents bleeding. The brilliant white paper ensures vibrant colours; both monochrome and multicoloured motifs stand out and can be easily scanned and then further processed digitally. Britannia is particularly well suited for watercolour (wet-in-wet, smooth wash and dry painting), as well as gouache, tempera and acrylic. When wet, the natural white tough surface provides outstanding flatness. Colours can be applied easily, it is lignin and natural white, acid-free, lightfast and extremely age resistant. Available in: Hot Pressed and Cold Pressed.

The Fabriano 5 paper is mould made of a valuable mixture of cotton (50%) and accurately sected raw material. The absence of acid guarantees the inalterability over time of the paper. Ideal for watercolour, tempera, gouache, acrylic, ink, charcoal, wax, graphite, felt-tipped pens, drawing and printmaking (etching, lithography and silk-screening), announcements and invitations. The watermark (only on sheets) reproduces the Fabriano logo and the inscription "50% COTTON".
