The prized cotton papers, Watercolour 300, are characterised by a very durable paper surface that is well suited for demanding watercolour techniques. The fibres do not lift, rub off or loosen, even when applying multiple layers of colour, or when using masking fluids and tapes. This paper lets you use the most beautiful colours and create remarkable wet-on-wet paintings.

The stability and strength of this board offers excellent flatness when wet. The hard surface offers easy application of colour. Hahnemühle FineArt has designed a special paper for Japanese sumi-e painting. This very absorbent paper is ideal for "freestyle" brush painting. "sumi" means "black ink" and "e" means both "path" and "painting". The natural white paper creates strong contrasts as the brush glides across the surface. Sumi-e is acid free and extremely age resistant.

Preliminary sketches can be easily rubbed out on the coated surface, and the tips of sensitive brush pens or paintbrushes are preserved. The smooth, closed surface traps colours and prevents bleeding. The brilliant white paper ensures vibrant colours; both monochrome and multicoloured motifs stand out and can be easily scanned and then further processed digitally. Our pads offer the perfect absorption and drying behaviour for brush pens, fine-tip pens and felt-tip pens.

Britannia is particularly well suited for watercolour (wet-in-wet, smooth wash and dry painting), as well as gouache, tempera and acrylic. Hahnemühle Ingres Pastel offers pastel artists the perfect surface. Designed for this specific artistic technique, the Ingres Pastel 100 gsm paper has fine ridges and a slightly rough surface. It allows even colour adherence without using a lot of pressure, producing precise and colour-intensive results. Thanks to the exclusive use of high-quality pigmented colours in the production of this paper, Ingres Pastel boasts exceptional lightfastness. It is ideal for pastels, pencils and red chalk.Hahnemühle Ingres Pastel is available as a pad in white or nine different shades. The sheets are available in 9 shades ( see the picture ). The watermark (only on sheets) reproduces the Fabriano logo and the inscription "50% COTTON".
