Professional dry watercolors in pans are made according to traditional recipes based on gum arabic and thoroughly ground pigments and the addition of acacia honey, used as a binder. Almost the entire watercolor production process is carried out manually to ensure the highest quality and purity of the traditional recipe. In their production, selected organic and inorganic pigments are used, including real Polish cadmium and cobalt. The 30 fine AKADEMIE® Gouache colours in artist quality are perfect for beginners in gouache painting and suitable for art education due to their colour properties. The intense, even matt-drying water-based colours have a high opacity and very good mixing properties, they can also easily be rewetted. The attractive value for money of 60ml tubes is a further advantage of this high quality, uncomplicated gouache, which, of course, can be mixed and combined with all other Schmincke gouache series (HORADAM® GOUACHE and HKS® Designers' Gouache).

Renesans GOUACHE are easy to use thick and well-covering paints, which produce a flexible but still water soluble layer. Besides pigment, the production of gouache involves kaolin and other raw materials to make the paint well-soluble. Our gouache is held together with gum arabic and produces a thick and opaque layer on dry or damp paper. It can be applied with aerographs to produce exceptionally saturated and smooth surfaces. Gouache also goes well with other techniques, including watercolours, acrylics, sketching, which is why it is very popular among designers and illustrators. After drying, all temperas considerably brightens and fades, so it is recommended to use liquid agents to preserve and intensify the colour.

The major development of inks in recent years has been the increasing use of pigments and acrylic resins. The difference between the dye-based inks and the pigmented inks are a slight reduction in colour intensity, but much improved resistance to fading. FW Artists’ Ink is an acrylic-based, pigmented, water-resistant ink (on most surfaces) in a range of 38 colours, all of which have either a 3 or 4 star rating for permanence. Such a high degree of lightfastness over such a range of fully intermixable colours makes them ideal for use by artists in the production of pictures for permanent display. Equally, however, colours can be substantially diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones, very similar in character to watercolour. Such washes will dry to a water-resistant film on virtually all surfaces and successive layers of colour can be laid over. FW Artists’ Inks work well through airbrushes and technical pens.
