Schmincke

Intermediate varnish for painting in oil. Colourless; non-yellowing; fast drying; does not solve just-dried oil colours; it is possible to add a final varnish based on mineral spirit at once; the dried varnish layer remains soluble in turpentine substitute.

This medium is for the preparation of watercolour paper so that already dreid colour can be removed afterwards, so a watercolour painting can be modified or corrected. Especially usefull for staining watercolours, which are hard to remove, marked with the triangle symbol. The medium has to be applied before the colour application, as it isolates the paper. Using very soft, textured paper types like e.g. rag paper, the medium has to be applied purely. For stronger sized papers the medium should be thinned with water. Pre-tests are recommended. As the Lift-off Medium dries to a water-insoluble film, it must never be put into the pans. Please clean tools as soon as possible with water and soap.

Low-fat (“lean”) painting and thinning medium for oil colours. Recommended for thin grounds and to set up transparency paintings on gouache, tempera and acrylic paints; thins with hardly affecting the drying time and gloss. Dosage: 10 to max. 20%

This crystal clear fixative suits as a fixative for pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolours, ink, tempera, photos, prints, acrylic and oil colours. Due to the well-known acrylic resin Paraloid® B72 (often used in restoration) it has tightening and protecting characteristics and is also suitable as final varnish. It is highly lightfast, age-resistant and non-yellowing. Depending on the painting surface you will achieve an invisible fixation (on absorbent surfaces) or a semi-matt/ slightly glossy film (on non-absorbent surfaces). AEROSPRAY B72 has to be sprayed for several times from a distance of 30 - 40 cn from left to right and top to bottom (only in well-ventilated rooms). It contains solvents and must not be inhaled.

For special effects, there are also 12 effect colours for special kinds of colour effects: A range of 9 effect colours (divided into 4 effect types) which provide unique colour effects because of their versatility. Depending on the layer thickness, surface, lighting and viewing angles, they produce spectacular effects and attractive colour sheen. AERO SHINE (2 colours) AERO METALLIC (7 colours)
