Hahnemühle FineArt has designed a special paper for Japanese sumi-e painting. This very absorbent paper is ideal for "freestyle" brush painting. "sumi" means "black ink" and "e" means both "path" and "painting". The natural white paper creates strong contrasts as the brush glides across the surface. Sumi-e is acid free and extremely age resistant.

When wet, the natural white tough surface provides outstanding flatness. Colours can be applied easily, it is lignin and natural white, acid-free, lightfast and extremely age resistant. Available in: Hot Pressed and Cold Pressed.

Masking fluids or masking tape can be used and removed residue-free. While wet colours can be easily corrected or taken off.
